Investment Objective

Long-term capital appreciation

Fund Characteristics

The Fund seeks to invest across the market cap and style spectrum in companies that exhibit quality characteristics and positive sustainability attributes and that are undervalued by the marketplace. In pursuing these opportunities, the Fund also seeks to avoid companies that do not respect international human rights conventions and companies that derive a significant portion of their revenues from activities deemed not compliant with sustainable investment principles.

Investment Approach

  • A U.S. equity fund that seeks to invest in high-quality companies with strong management teams, competitive advantages, attractive industry structures, and favorable sustainability attributes
  • The Fund looks for companies that have a product or service that enables more sustainable outcomes, operate in a manner aligned with sustainability principles, or have demonstrated a commitment to improving their alignment with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles
  • ESG factors are integrated in the Fund's investment process, alongside traditional financial factors, facilitating a holistic assessment of company risks and opportunities
  • Employs bottom-up fundamental company research

Why Consider This Fund?

  • Seeks to deliver competitive returns over time with a moderate risk profile
  • Applies a time-tested, fundamental research approach to assess a company’s growth sustainability and critical success factors
  • Offers balanced exposure in terms of sustainability themes, investment style, and market capitalization
  • Managed by an experienced and long-tenured investment team
  • The Fund is actively managed and is not constrained by a benchmark

Risks

  • The value of shares and any income from them can increase or decrease and an investor may not get back the amount originally invested
  • Where investments are made in currencies other than an investor's base currency, the value of those investments will be affected (favourably or unfavourably) by movements in exchange rates
  • Equity securities may decrease in value in response to the activities of an individual company or in response to general market, business, and economic conditions
  • The Fund focuses its investments in the United States and will have greater exposure to the market, political and economic risks of that country than if it was more diversified across a number of countries
  • The application of sustainability and ESG criteria may cause the Fund to forego certain investments that would otherwise meet its objective and strategy, and these criteria may not align with the views of any particular investor
